Please note: Call for Papers for CHASE 2012 is now closed. Submissions for CHASE 2013 will close on Monday 1 October, 2012
Event Objectives:
CHASE – The Charities and Associations Exhibition is the leading exhibition for the non-profit sector in the UK. The event takes place at the Business Design Centre, Islington, London N1 . It is a business-to-business exhibition providing a forum where managers from associations, charities and other non-profit organisations can meet suppliers of goods, services and advice to the sector. A programme of free seminars on subjects of interest to the target visitors runs alongside the exhibition.
The programme is intended to be educational, interesting, and topical. We regret that we are unable to offer any fees or reimburse any out of pocket expenses to our speakers - just offer our grateful thanks and those of the delegates. There are likely to be six streams running consecutively across the two open days of the event. There are likely to be four sessions in each stream each day, with suitable gaps between each session allowing speakers time to familiarise themselves with the environment, check their slides – and allow visitors time to attend the exhibition.
Presentation Content:
If you are a source of expertise in your field, we hope you will be willing to share that expertise with leading senior managers, directors and trustees from the UK not-for-profit sector. There are a few guidelines that we would ask you to observe. These are:
a) be objective - if you sound like a walking advert for a supplier organisation, delegates will leave early and you will create a bad impression.
b) Use examples or case studies (or both) if possible. Delegates like to picture how your advice might apply to them.
c) keep to schedule and keep on the subject.
It is recommended that the seminar/workshop/debate should last about 45/50 minutes in total. Within that time, please allow about 5/15 minutes for Questions and Answers. Again this is an opportunity for delegates to relate their own situation to what you say.
Handouts are much appreciated for the later dissemination of information to colleagues. It is recommended that these are distributed at the end of the seminar. Alternatively, pre-load your PowerPoint slides or notes on to your website and allow visitors access for about 6/8 weeks after the event. Please supply the organizers with details of handouts/presentation slides/website details at least seven days in advance of the event.
Format:
You are not obliged to stand and preach! Interactive workshop sessions, debates and other creative formats are welcomed. Just advise us of preferred format when submitting your synopsis.
To Submit a Proposal:
This is the easy bit! All that is required of you is a short, snappy title that succinctly describes your session. In addition, please supply a brief synopsis (between 40/60 words) describing the content in more detail to enable potential attendees to evaluate the content of your session.Delegates will be critical if title/synopsis and content don't match up!
Please confirm name, job title and organisation of the speaker(s) with the submission (we need this for the website and marketing materials). Then, asap, please submit a 50 word biography and jpeg/png photo of each speaker for loading on the website.
Please send your proposal to mw@conferencehouse.co.uk Closing date for CHASE 2013 : Monday 1 October, 2012
Audio-Visual Support:

Make sure your laptop (or notebook) is VGA compatible. The AV staff will be available to assist if required. Lapel and table microphones with amplification will be available in the larger rooms.

The Delegates:
You will be provided with a list of pre-registered delegates (name, organisation & job title) booked into your seminar about one week prior to the event to help you fine tune your presentation to the right level. This list is subject to Data Protection restrictions.
