Herewith some background information on the speakers at the forthcoming nfp technology exhibition.

  CHARLES BAGNALL: Charles joined Minerva, now part of Iris NFP Solutions in 1990 with a background in accountancy and IT management. His initial appointment was as Senior Project Manager, and early assignments included implementing fundraising and membership systems for the Tate Gallery and Battersea Dogs Home. In 1998 he was given responsibility for the contract to replace RNLI’s fundraising systems, a major project which Charles managed to the successful Go Live in June 2000.

Over the years his responsibilities have included, account management, business analysis, user training, and the product management of all IRIS NFP Solutions fundraising systems. Since 2009 he was been the large charity systems Product Manager for IRIS NFP Solutions.
  CHRIS CAIRNS: Chris has been working with both UK and International Not for Profit organisations and Membership Associations for many years. In this time he has been heavily involved in understanding challenges faced by the sector in contact management, member recruitment, increasing member loyalty whilst simultaneously reducing attrition. Through this intimate knowledge of client issues Chris has been successful in delivering cost effective and successful IT strategies which link existing websites to specific back office database solutions.
 

STEVE CAST: Steve is the founder and current Managing Director of Redbourn Business Systems Limited, suppliers of the Advantage Fundraiser integrated fundraising, membership and alumni database solution for the not-for-profit sector.


Steve is a “techno guru” and relishes every opportunity to guarantee that his team provides high quality solutions on time and to an agreed budget. When he’s not in the office Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons and is a practising Christian. He has a long term commitment to the sector, having developed charity databases since 1985, and as a long standing volunteer leader within the Scout Association.  

  MARCUS CHIDGEY: Marcus began his career at Apple working on the launch of the iPod and founded Captive Minds in 2003. Since then, Marcus has worked with a wide range of clients including Cadbury's, Toshiba, Champagne Mumm and Nokia to name but a few. Captive Minds delivers unique customer experiences and personalised content through their cEngage product suite.

Marcus recently led a two-year consultancy project at the Department of Children, Schools and Families. The resulting MyCafcass online media portal built by Captive Minds now provides support to over 200,000 children in social care. He has worked extensively with charities in the past, most notably as a director of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award 50th Anniversary team.
  ROGER CRAVEN: Roger started working with charities in 2003 when he advised CTT about how to develop an SMS giving service. Gradually he became more involved in providing the technology as well as the advice. In 2005 he founded Vir2, to run the service.

Roger has been involved in over a thousand charity campaigns and is also a board member of the Mobile Data Association. He is passionate about the use of mobile technology to improve the efficiency of charity fundraising. He believes that the key to developing the market is making text donation affordable to the widest number of charities.

In 2006 he lobbied Parliament to get HMRC to clarify their VAT rules in relation to charitable donations by text. He then joined the campaign with Charities Aid Foundation, the Institute of Fundraising and NFP Synergy to introduce 70 series short codes and reduce the network charges.
 

JEREMY DAVIS: Jeremy has almost 10 years’ experience in digital, and as Commercial Director at digital agency Chameleon Net, is responsible for all client account management, also operating as eBusiness Consultant to clients.                                                                                                                      
Jeremy is passionate about the possibilities offered by the digital channel to help not-for-profits achieve their organisational objectives. He has managed numerous search and social marketing / online projects for Chameleon Net’s clients, including Equality & Human Rights Commission, Médicins Sans Frontières and Diabetes UK.

  GORDON FONG: Gordon  is co-founder and Managing Director of e-mango, as well as a shareholder of Kimcell Ltd. After a background in ISDN communications for Apple Macs he co-founded e-mango as a company specialising in engaging closely with clients and delivering Internet products and services in line with their growing needs. e-mango is part of the larger Kimcell umbrella that provides IT consultancy and managed Internet hosting services.

JAMES GRIFFIN:  As Director of Hosting Strategy, James is responsible for the strategy behind Star's hosted services, including managed hosting, email and hosted applications. Before joining the team at Star in 2007, James held senior Product, Marketing and Sales roles at UK providers Fasthosts and Namesco.

  ANDY HEPBURN: Andy Hepburn is Database Manager at the General Dental Council, where he is responsible for the integration of IRIS CARE into the whole organisation.
  NEILSON KITE: Neilson is an organisational 'troubleshooter' who has worked in the IT industry since the Seventies, has been a director of national IT bodies, worked with the UN on e-Trade development projects and ran the regionally-based Software Business Network.
  HOWARD LAKE: Howard has published UK Fundraising (www.fundraising.co.uk), the online resource and community for professional charity fundraisers, since 1994. It was the world's first web resource for professional fundraisers. He also trains and advises charities on online fundraising, including social media. He's still smitten with Twitter (@howardlake).
DOMINIC NEWMAN: With over 4 years of working with memberships and not-for-profits, Dominic Newman is a key member of the netXtra consultancy team. His experience in complex Internet solutions, confident manner and ability to understand client requirements helps himidentify optimum solutions for clients. His client portfolio has include: The National Farmers Union, Transport for London, ABTA , The British Institute of Innkeeping and The Recruitment and Employment Confederation
  DAVID PINCHES: Through his career David has held senior and board level marketing roles at a UK and International level. In recent appointments he had been instrumental in maximizing the impact of an online marketing & communications strategy to generate income and improve existing relationships with stakeholders.
   IAIN PRITCHARD: Iain is a partner at Sayer Vincent and leads on consultancy assignments involving information system planning and implementation. Iain has worked in both the commercial and voluntary sectors and has been head of IS at The Children's Society and at The Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust. Iain is currently advising a range of national charities in areas from strategic planning and project governance to system selection and implementation management. Iain speaks regularly at key charity events and at the IS Benchlearning Forum on successful information systems planning.
 

VICKY REEVES: Vicky is founder and managing director of award-winning digital agency, Chameleon Net.  Chameleon Net provides web design and development, digital strategy, online marketing and social media campaigns to an array of clients in the non-profit sector, including Médicins Sans Frontières, Barnardo’s and UNICEF UK.                                                    
Vicky’s success has been recognised by a series of industry and entrepreneur awards, including the Best Women In Technology Award (businesses under 250 employees) at the 2005 Blackberry Women & Technology Awards, and was Highly Commended in the National Business Awards (Entrepreneur category) 2007.  

  BENJAMIN REVILL: With more years in technology than his youthful appearance might suggest(!) Ben has been involved in the implementation of over 30 CRM systems, all but five in Not for Profit organizations. As IRIS CARE Business Manager Benjamin is responsible for ensuring that CARE projects ‘do what they say on the tin’ from pre-contract through to go live.
 

STEVE SAWYER: As IRIS NFP Solutions Sales Manager, Steve has extensive practical experience in web development and online member engagement, coupled with integrated Customer Relationship Management. Previously, he was Head of Innovation at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). During his seven years at the CIPR, he managed the transition from paper-based to internet-based services, maintaining a 50% year-on-year growth rate in traffic and e-commerce turnover.                                                                                                                        
In 2000 and 2003 respectively, Steve won awards for excellence in online communications from the American Society of Association Executives and the British Association of Communicators in Business.       

  JOHN SHRIVES: John has been working in the IT industry since time began.  After a multi-national corporate career with Philips Electronics, Digital Equipment and Atos Origin primarily in customer facing roles he went solo in 2001.

John has since worked with a number of organisations designing and successfully implementing web-based solutions to deliver, amongst others, membership, commerce and conference services. He is currently the IT Development Director for the International Bar Association.
